When someone visits CoverMyFuneral we use site analytic tools and a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns that are collected through ‘cookies’. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the site and its various pages, browsing habits, where you visited before you reached CoverMyFuneral, what type of enquiries are most common and the frequency that people return to the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone at an individual level. To process your enquiry and provide our services we ask you for personal details such as your name and contact information.
We must hold the details of the people who have requested a service in order to provide it. However, we only use the details to provide a service and for other closely related purposes.
To provide a service, the information you provide will be used by CoverMyFuneral to contact you by telephone, email or SMS. We may contact by these means to put you in touch with a pre-paid funeral expert and to tell you about products and services relevant to your enquiry.
To provide you with a consultation with a pre-paid funeral expert, or information about products and/or services that are relevant to your enquiry, CoverMyFuneral may send the details of your enquiry to a trusted third party such as a pre-paid funeral provider, to fulfil your request that third party may contact you by telephone, email or SMS
We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes and we will not share, sell, loan or lease your personal information to any other third party except those relevant, or needed, to provide the products or services you have requested.
We will not keep your information for longer than is necessary, unless we are required to do so under a legal obligation, or store or transfer any of your information outside of the European Economic Area. The information you provide will be held, and transferred to any third parties, securely by us.
Pre-paid funeral experts or specialists and/or pre-paid funeral plan providers will use your personal information to contact you and to progress your enquiry. During your conversation with a pre-paid funeral expert, the advisor will discuss your options in more detail. During the consultation and other subsequent communications, you will be dealing with one of our pre-paid funeral plan solutions partners and not CoverMyFuneral. All solutions are subject to acceptance and eligibility. Further conditions will apply and whilst initial advice will always be free, if you enter an agreement with one of our partners, they may charge for on-going services. Full details will be discussed prior to entering into any agreement and alternative options will be offered for your consideration.
If you decide to progress with an associated third party, the information you have provided to us, together with any further information requested by, and supplied by you, to the third-party, will be held by them for the purposes set out in their Privacy Notice.
Therefore, you are strongly advised to read your chosen specialist or plan provider's Privacy Notice to make sure you are satisfied that they too are processing your personal information fairly, lawfully and as you would reasonably expect.
Whilst the majority of the personal information we receive is collected directly, some of CoverMyFuneral promotion is done by third-party associates such as specialist marketing agencies, who design and maintain certain applications or channels. If we receive your personal information from a third-party we will only process it for the purposes, and handle it in the way that is, described in this Privacy Notice.
